Awaken Reiki Studio
A custom seven-page website and live-availability booking path for a Maine Reiki practice, with search, accessibility, and lead-delivery foundations.
The previous website was unavailable. Awaken Reiki Studio needed a complete replacement that could feel specific to Camilla's practice, explain an unfamiliar service clearly, and turn interest into a booking request without pretending the technology could do more than it could.
A ground-up replacement, not a cosmetic refresh
When the project was reviewed, the legacy website was unavailable and its certificate had expired. There was no stable public experience to polish. The job was to rebuild the business online from the ground up.
The brief called for a clean, elegant, functional site with a more considered visual presence, stronger local search foundations, and a booking path that belonged to the practice instead of dropping visitors into a generic embedded widget.
A visual system specific to the practice
I led the strategy, design direction, build, integrations, deployment, and later remediation. The final site uses a custom palette, processed client photography, restrained motion, and an animated Flower of Life emblem built for the identity.
Seven public pages separate the story, sessions, pricing, testimonials, common questions, and booking flow. That gives someone unfamiliar with Reiki enough context to decide whether the practice fits before asking them to act.
Booking based on live information
The booking experience reads live availability from Square and presents real open dates inside the custom site. A visitor chooses a session and submits a request, then Camilla confirms it personally.
Square write operations were not available for this build, so the interface does not call a request an instant booking. If the Square availability request fails, the lead path still survives through a stored request form. The boundary is visible and honest.
Search, access, and delivery were part of the build
The site includes route-specific titles, descriptions, canonical links, social previews, local-business and service metadata, a sitemap, robots rules, and an AI-readable site summary. Those are implemented foundations, not a claim that rankings appeared overnight.
Accessibility work covers skip navigation, visible keyboard focus, reduced-motion behavior, live status announcements, calendar focus, and clear error handling. Performance work includes static output, durable caching for built assets, bounded image caching, canonical redirects, and a repair for broken route-prefetch payloads.
What the work proves
Awaken Reiki Studio now has a complete live site, a brand-specific visual system, and a booking path connected to the availability source Camilla already uses.
There is no invented booking lift or traffic percentage attached to it. The case study shows the shipped pages, the working request path, the documented technical boundaries, and Camilla’s own statement about the impact across both of her businesses.
