Freedom Painting

A veteran-owned painting company in Houlton got a website built on spec first. The pitch was the site itself, and it became a paid project.

Freedom Painting is a veteran-owned painting company serving the Greater Houlton area. They didn't ask for a website. I built one anyway, sent it over, and the spec site became the paid project that's live today.

Built before anyone asked

Most web work starts with a meeting. This one started with a site. Freedom Painting is a veteran-owned painting company in Houlton, my own town, and I could see what a proper website would do for them. So I built the homepage first and sent it over, no strings attached, just a look at what was possible.

That was the pitch: a working page with their name on it that they could open on a phone and judge for themselves.

What the site has to say

A painting customer around Houlton wants to know a few things before they pick up the phone, and the homepage puts them first:

  • Who they are. Veteran owned and operated, licensed in the State of Maine.
  • Where they work. The Greater Houlton area, residential painting.
  • How to reach them. A free-quote button and the phone number, both above the fold, plus a Call Now button in the header.

The rest of the site backs that up: services, a gallery, reviews and a contact page.

From spec to paid

They said yes. The spec site became a paid project, and it’s live at freedompainting.us.
